Options for your Peace of Mind
If you have Medicare and have added a Medicare Advantage plan or a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan with a Prescription plan then you have taken the steps needed to assure that you have the Health Insurance coverage needed for any future health concerns.
But are there other concerns that need to addressed for the financial security of you and your loved ones?
Lets take a look at available Ancillary Products and you can decide if any make sense for you.
- Final Expense Insurance is designed to cover the bills that your loved ones will face after your death. These costs may include medical bills and funeral expenses. Final expense insurance is also known as burial insurance. Unfortunately, even bare-bones funerals can cost thousands of dollars. Having a final expense plan provides peace of mind knowing that your family isn’t going to have your final expenses after you die.Several companies offer these plans and some do not ask any health questions.
- Hospital Indemnity Insurance will pay you directly if you are hospitalized. It pays a flat amount for each day in the hospital regardless of what other coverage that you have. Medicare advantage plans generally have a daily charge for hospitalization and many Medicare beneficiaries have an indemnity plan in place in order to receive a check that can cover those charges. You will have the peace of mind in knowing that you will receive a check after being in the hospital to use any way that you want.
- Short-Term Home Health Care Like long-term care insurance, short-term policies typically cover home care, assisted living and nursing homes when you can’t take care of yourself. But instead of paying for years of care, short-term care insurance, also known as recovery care, typically provides benefits for 12 months or less. Typically, short-term care insurance is used to cover gaps in Medicare coverage or as an alternative option to long-term care insurance.
- Cancer, Heart Attach and Stroke If you were diagnosed with cancer or suffered a heart attack or stroke, the last thing you would want to worry about is your finances. Cancer, Heart Attack and Stroke Insurance helps you receive the financial peace of mind that allows you to focus on what matters most – your recovery. How does it work?
A lump-sum benefit amount is paid directly to you regardless of any other health care coverage you may have upon the diagnosis of cancer or if you suffer a heart attack or stroke. Benefit amounts are flexible and can range up to $75,000 for cancer and $75,000 for heart attack and stroke, depending on your specific needs. - Long-Term Care is care that you need if you can no longer perform everyday tasks (activities of daily living) by yourself due to a chronic illness, injury, disability or the aging process. Long term care also includes the supervision you might need due to a severe cognitive impairment (such as Alzheimer’s disease). People often confuse long term care with disability or short-term medical care. Long term care is not:
- care that you receive in the hospital or your doctor’s office
care you need to get well from a sickness or an injury
short-term rehabilitation from an accident
recuperation from surgery
This type of care is not intended to cure you. It is chronic care that you might need for the rest of your life. You can receive long term care in your own home, a nursing home or another long-term care facility, such as an assisted living facility.
- care that you receive in the hospital or your doctor’s office
- Dental Plans Good oral health is extremely important for seniors. But often the high cost of going to the dentist makes it difficult to get the proper care. Delta Dental offers six plans that fit every budget. You can look at the options and enroll online. I represent several other dental plans as well.
- Vision Plans If you tend to procrastinate when its time to have your eyes checked and/or buy new glasses They have a couple of options, and you can enroll online as well. I also represent other companies that provide vision insurance.
